What is Pay&Go?
PAY&GO is a contactless payment system that allows you to purchase a ticket to travel on the Malpensa Express by simply holding your physical or virtual payment card close to the dedicated turnstiles and totems found in some stations served by the airport connection.
Thanks to PAY&GO, you can buy your tickets with two simple taps – before boarding and at the arrival station when you get off the train – without going to the ticket office. Easy. Fast. Secure.
-
Where can I purchase?
You can purchase the following tickets:
- one-way tickets for the Malpensa Express, at the adult rate, for the Milan–Malpensa, Saronno–Malpensa and Busto Arsizio Nord–Malpensa routes, in both directions of travel;
- discounted Malpensa Express return tickets for the same day, for the Milan–Malpensa route (discounted ticket at 20 euros instead of 26). -
Where you can use it
You can use PAY&GO in the following stations equipped with dedicated totems and turnstiles, which are branded with PAY&GO graphics:
- Milano Cadorna: 6 turnstiles, 3 at the entrance and 3 at the exit
- Milano Centrale: 1 totem on platform 3

How does Pay&Go work?
To buy a ticket with PAY&GO, you need to tap twice: simply hold your Visa, Mastercard, Maestro or American Express contactless payment card (credit, debit or prepaid) or your smartphone equipped with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology close to one of the dedicated turnstiles/totems in the departure station.
The success of the first tap will be confirmed by:
- a voice message saying "Card accepted. Have a good trip";
- a green light coming on;
- a written message reading "Card accepted. Have a good trip".
To complete the payment, you must tap a second time upon arrival, at a PAY&GO turnstile or totem located in the destination station.
The cost of the ticket will be charged to the card used, and you can then verify it on your statement.
During the inspection on board or at the station, simply show your card or NFC smartphone directly to the Trenord staff, who will be able to verify your ticket. If you purchased your ticket with a virtual card in a digital wallet (Apple and/or Google), you will need to provide the inspector with the virtual account number that you can find in your device's app (Apple Pay or Google Pay).
How can I check my purchases with Pay&Go?
You can check your PAY&GO purchases on your banking app or on your statement.
If you need a receipt for your payment, you must register for the Traveller Portal and link the card you used to your account; you will be able to independently check your tickets and download the receipts for the associated payments.
At the moment, this feature is only available if you use a physical card.
If you used a virtual card, you can contact Trenord via the support channel for a receipt, giving "Invoices, Certifications, Receipts" as the reason and providing the following information: date, time and station where the virtual card was tapped, in addition to the last 4 digits of the virtual card, which can be retrieved from the device's wallet.
